QT7 could edit media, cut, splice, trim, copy, paste, re-order, re-assign. Shame there's no documentation about it outside of random videos like this that barely scratch the surface.įCP7 was basically just a giant interface for the guts of QT7. None of the alternative software mentioned in here comes even close to its functionality and this is why some of us feel like our limbs have been chopped off and we've been forced into amateurism. Probably more i'm forgetting (though I still have it running on an old mac which I'll never upgrade) but basically it was the basic actions of a video/audio editor, which pros like myself would rely on constantly to be running alongside our NLE or DAW to process video and audio files without going into the heavier programs. For video tracks, you could flip/rotate the picture on the fly. You could even "Extract" one of the tracks and paste them into a new QT file, or "Paste Into" an existing QT file (you'd have the choice to insert or overlay). For each track, you could control a bunch of its properties. for a typical video you'd have 1 track for video, 2 tracks for stereo audio.
